Let's go back to our school days. Well I was an average student in my class getting occasionally decent marks. And like every student even I liked to get appreciated and motivated by my teachers. And whenever my grades weren't good enough, my teachers and parents were very disappointed. Does that mean that they shouldn't have expected much from me as ultimately they were disappointed ?
Well the answer is of course NO !!
Infact I would have felt very insulted and unmotivated by the fact that they didn't expect much from me. And all in all it helped me to improve over every next time. I genuinely thank them for that :)
This is the same scenario in our lives also as we grow up. If any of my close one lets me know that they are happy with me as they do not expect much from me, it is very insulting to me! It simply makes me question myself.
Yes , I do agree that each and everyone of us are going to get hurt but that doesn't mean we stop expecting. It would be very disheartening to realize that some of them wouldn't stand by us from whom we do expect the most to come from ! But on the other hand it would also be a very joyous and proud moment to know that some of them have actually stood up by us leaving besides their priorities and making us one !! Realize those people in your life before they are gone. It has always been human tendency to chase for love from whom you least get it. It has been the case with you as well , isn't it ?! We do not value the love that we seldomly get it unless we finally stop getting love from them as well ! Yes that is something is not going to change. Though it would be better if we realize the importance of their love.
Over the time i have realized that life is more beautiful when you love those people who love you back more than you love them. (Yes please read it twice if you didn't get it in first time ! Its a beautiful line! )
So i do agree with Shakespeare's quote " Expectation is the root of all heartache" but by any sense it is not going to stop me from expecting any less from my life !
So let's count actually from whom do we really expect ?! And yes if you do, go ahead and let them know !!
